Troubleshooting

Ploti returns specific recovery instructions with tool errors. If your assistant summarizes an error too aggressively, ask it to show the complete Ploti tool message.
Confirm the server URL is exactly https://mcp.ploti.ai/api/mcp and uses HTTPS. Remove any trailing text or copied punctuation. If the host cached a failed setup, remove the Ploti connection and add it again.
Start a new conversation and enable Ploti in the host’s tools or apps menu. Some hosts snapshot tool metadata when a connector is added; remove and reconnect Ploti if the tool list remains stale.
MCP sessions close after one hour without activity. Ask the assistant to start a new session and navigate to the relevant place. Saved checkpoints, tables, queries, filters, and files remain in the workspace.
Parcel-level data requires a close enough map view. Ask the assistant to navigate closer to the city, neighborhood, address, or coordinates, then list the available layers again. A broad regional view intentionally exposes fewer parcel-level datasets.
Free MCP workspaces can query nationwide U.S. parcel data and use ordinance research. Other datasets may require a paid Ploti plan. Ploti reports locked layers explicitly and provides the upgrade path only when the request needs that data.
Longer analysis automatically becomes a background job. Let the assistant poll the existing job instead of rerunning it. Jobs can run for up to 15 minutes, and executions within one session run one at a time.
Some MCP hosts render only text results. The assistant should still receive a compact preview and an Open in Ploti link. If a normally supported host shows a blank panel, reconnect Ploti to refresh its cached UI template.
Ask the assistant to name the source layers, map viewport, filters, and missing fields. Broaden or narrow the viewport as needed. Verify material property and ordinance facts with the cited primary source.
