# Connect Ploti to Instinct

> Set up Instinct with a Ploti key and one message

# Connect Ploti to Instinct

Instinct is set up with a message rather than a connector: you make a key in Ploti, send Instinct one line, and it reads Ploti's setup instructions and does the rest. It can then find properties, research ordinances, and ask Ploti for data it does not have yet.

**Before you start:** You need a Ploti account. A workspace admin makes keys; if you are not an admin, ask one to make a key for Instinct and send it to you.

**1. Create a key for Instinct**

Open [Connect your assistant](https://app.ploti.ai/connect/agent?client=instinct) in Ploti (sign in if asked), choose **Instinct**, and select **Create key**. Copy the key: Ploti shows it only once.

**2. Paste this into Instinct**

Start a conversation with Instinct and send this message:

Set up Ploti for me by following https://api.ploti.ai/v1/setup.md
```

**3. Follow what Instinct says**

Instinct reads Ploti's setup instructions and tells you what to do. When it asks for your key, add it in Instinct's settings, not in the chat.

**4. Try it**

Ask Instinct: `Use Ploti to find vacant parcels over 10 acres near Tampa, Florida.`

To disconnect Instinct, open **Settings**, then **API keys** in Ploti, and select **Disconnect** next to its key. The key stops working at once.
