# Connect Ploti to Grok Bot

> Set up Grok Bot with a Ploti key and one message

# Connect Ploti to Grok Bot

Grok Bot is set up with a message rather than a connector: you make a key in Ploti, send Grok Bot one line, and it reads Ploti's setup instructions and does the rest. It can then find properties, research ordinances, and ask Ploti for data it does not have yet.

**Before you start:** You need a Ploti account. A workspace admin makes keys; if you are not an admin, ask one to make a key for Grok Bot and send it to you.

**1. Create a key for Grok Bot**

Open [Connect your assistant](https://app.ploti.ai/connect/agent?client=grok-bot) in Ploti (sign in if asked), choose **Grok Bot**, and select **Create key**. Copy the key: Ploti shows it only once.

**2. Paste this into Grok Bot**

Start a conversation with Grok Bot and send this message:

```

**3. Follow what Grok Bot says**

Grok Bot reads Ploti's setup instructions and tells you what to do. When it asks for your key, add it in Grok Bot's settings, not in the chat.

**4. Try it**

Ask Grok Bot: `Use Ploti to find vacant parcels over 10 acres near Tampa, Florida.`

To disconnect Grok Bot, open **Settings**, then **API keys** in Ploti, and select **Disconnect** next to its key. The key stops working at once.
